In my two decades of work experience, I have seen some bubbles bursting however, mostly have witnessed amazing stories unfold. Every story,
added to a learning curve making the journey truly a ‘wow’ experience.
It doesn't stop here; new stories are being written and I am proud to be a part of it either as a creator or as a consumer.
My professional journey embarked at the very age of 15, In 1993, I appeared for boards and following day sat in for my first interview as a Free Lance Investigator at IMRB (Indian Market Research Bureau). In next 5 years, did numerous projects with them (part-time), it was transformational, during which met and interacted with over 5000 people. Phew! One of the early lessons learnt from my first boss, Savio Pais, I believe in and adhere to date, he would say, “The time you reach for your appointments and your gait determines your inclination.”
Soon after graduating in English Literature and Psychology from Sophia College as a Mumbai University topper, I joined Tata Donnelleys as an Account Executive in their Direct Marketing division, subsequently donning the hat of a Marketing specialist. While I was at it, I completed my Masters in Marketing Management from Mumbai University.
I’ve been adventurous, spanning my career in consumer product, media, retail and education sector. Each of them has etched few definite lines of advancement in my career. I've had my moments, the First Crossword Annual Sale, Planet M reaching its mission 50 target, spending the 26/7 night at Radio City, Mumbai office and wondering what is wrong with Rain God!., working with best people and best places. I am proud of every association so far.
I moved with the tide, with motherhood, thriving for balance, hence consciously took a call on slowing down from fast pace corporate arena. I remember the day I quit, my boss then, Apurva Purohit at Radio City held her gaze at me and said, “Nothing gets wasted, you are rich because of all the experiences you own.”
My academia stint kicked off in June 2008 at K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, out there, I was teaching, managing their Management Development Program, launching new courses. Education business prods differently and comes in with a perspective.
In 2016, I realized I wanted more out of myself. Children are surely growing up and need less of me, figuratively . I deep dived into self-awareness; nonetheless, I always did have a slight bent having attended numerous courses in this turf.
My inward sojourn began, as I found myself asking, “What Makes My Heart Sing?” the path hereon straightened itself, I wanted to invest in human capital, foster and bring ‘the’ best out of people.
Mitch Albom in his book, ‘Have a Little Faith’ famously said, “The most inspirational man I knew reached his own potential by helping others reach theirs.”
I became a Certified Storyteller, DiSC Behavior Style Trainer, I am an Associate Certified Coach - Story, Life & Executive with an International Coach Federation, Trained counselor from Spring Counseling Centre and a Certified Process Facilitator.
My work as a corporate facilitator too shaped up in the area of storytelling, executive presence, behavior, and personal branding. I launched Self Expression Workshops for Teens & Young Adults aiding to find their ‘self-identity’ in action driven competitive world. I am truly work-in progress, as I go along, I am looking forward, to connect, to bond, to unlock potential, to meet and nurture like-mindedness, to share and be aware of HERE and NOW and YES! The chance to experience EHIPANY.
My specialty niche is Coaching & Facilitating for Transformation, eager to dialogue with clients putting all my skills at play guiding them to figure out “what next?”, “how?”, “which way?”, “where?” and “really when?”.
I listen to words and the spirit behind those words to create personalized programs with the understanding of audience needs and industry benchmark.
I recognize the advantages of empowerment and self-awareness for personal and professional progress. Note, ‘YOUR GROWTH’ is of only importance in our engagement.
Laughter, play and stories are the way to connect with human beings and that is when they learn the best, in my programs there are moments of discovery, creativity and yes, therefore uncountable learnings.
